PRIZE DRAW!

To celebrate 33 years of pioneering outback photography on Australia’s largest cattle stations, I have a very special prize draw running.

This competition is also advertised in the December 2017-January 2018 issue of R.M. William’s Outback magazine (which features a story I produced on the Brook family’s Cordillo Downs, in South Australia).

CHOICE OF 2 GREAT PRIZES!

PRIZE CHOICE ONE:

  • A beautiful limited edition print of one of my best outback cattle station images.
  • And you get to choose which of your favourite images out of the 3 books you’d like to be printed (note: many of the older and award-winning photos have sold out; but there’s plenty of fantastic more recent images still available). Some photographs of framed limited prints can be seen in the background of my outback exhibition website page.
  • Limited edition print prices start at $550 including GST, depending on the image you’ve chosen and how many are left in the print run.

If the total of the particular image you’ve chosen to have printed, plus freight, is below $735 – you’ll also receive fantastic custom-made outback cushion covers to make up the difference in value.

PRIZE CHOICE TWO:

  • A personal (one-to-one) photography mentoring session.
  • It can be one or two sessions over the phone or via email, or an in-person session; either in Townsville, or a location near where you live that I happen to visit during the year.
  • I can run through photography basics (including useful mobile phone settings), answer professional standard and more complicated queries, review a portfolio, provide marketing, social media, pricing and publishing advice – based on more than thirty years of experience. Most of the topics listed on my rural workshops page are feasible;  whatever suits the winner.
  • (For anyone who’d like a month-long chance to obtain photography and/or social media advice, this is available on the 2018 ‘Paddock to Plate’ tour of Ireland & the UK.  There’s no extra charge for photography advice while we travel, which makes this tour extra good value.)

OTHER DETAILS:

  • The total value of either prize is at least $735 (including GST & freight, if applicable).
  • Prize draw entry is automatic for everyone who has purchased books or photographs directly from me and whose current contact details are on my mailing list.
  • The prize draw winner will be contacted by email & required to respond within 7 days. If the winner cannot be contacted within 7 days of notification because their details are incomplete or outdated, the prize will be redrawn.
  • The winner’s name, nearest town/suburb and country (if not Australia) will be mentioned on this website. If any winner has any objection to these basic details being publicly recorded they can be exempted, and initials used instead, but the winner must let me know as soon as they have been notified that they have won (at which time I’ll ask about it).
  • The organiser (Fiona Lake) reserves the right to alter the competition if necessary, due to unexpected (unlikely) circumstances.
  • Prizes are not redeemable for cash and must be organised before 1st December 2018.
  • Competition drawn on 7 February 2018.

For your chance to win one of the great prizes, order one of the three best-quality Australian outback books available:

'Biggest Mobs - Longest Shadows' book

‘Biggest Mobs – Longest Shadows’ book

“Biggest Mobs – Longest Shadows” features all the NT’s famous Barkly Tableland cattle stations and the largest mobs of cattle on the planet.

“Life as an Australian Horseman – Australia’s largest cattle stations” includes vast cattle stations in Queensland, the Northern Territory & Western Australia’s Kimberley region. This book starts with catching stockhorses & proceeds through mustering to dinnercamp, yardup then yardwork; trucking and stockcamps. It also includes a chapter on uniquely Australian bronco branding, featuring a couple of the few stations that still bronco brand.

“A Million Acre Masterpiece” – the last copies of the original book, which includes a glossary, will be sold out soon. Grab a copy of this classic Australian book before it becomes unavailable!

If you’d like to receive the most irregular newsletter on the planet (I’m flat out sending as many as one per year), please add your details to the mailing list. (Note – the only complaints I get about my email newsletters is that they aren’t frequent enough. Newsletters include images that haven’t been published elsewhere, special offers, news of events and farm tours, etc.)
